Technology doesn’t just connect us. It shapes how we see ourselves, each other, and the conflicts around us. From amplifying polarization to fuelling tech-facilitated violence, digital spaces often deepen division, but they also hold potential for peace. In this conversation, we’ll explore efforts to mitigate these harms, both at the political level, through policy and platform accountability, and at the personal level, through digital resilience and new forms of engagement. Join this eye-opening and interactive conversation, where hosts Sandra Melone and Lena Slachmuijlder will dig into what matters most to you.

ABOUT THE HOSTS

Lena Slachmuijlder, a veteran peace builder with 30 years of experience working for peaceful social change. She is Senior Advisor for Digital Peacebuilding at Search for Common Ground, where she supports frontline peacebuilders in 35 countries to combat online harms and harness digital tools for fostering peace. Thanks to her experience spanning journalism, peacebuilding and 21 years in Africa, Lena has played a pivotal role in advancing global peace initiatives. Lena co-chairs the Council on Tech and Social Cohesion, which facilitates cross-sector efforts to design and deploy technology for social cohesion, and runs its Substack newsletter. As of February, Lena is the Chief Strategy and Policy Officer for the ChristChurch Call Foundation, which aims to prevent the use of technology in enabling violent extremism.

Our Series' host is Sandra Djuvara MeloneCEO of Zancora Consulting, which she founded in 2021, with a strong expertise in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, crisis management, human rights and, not last, gender. Sandra is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Search for Common Ground, Europe, one of the world’s leading international non-governmental organisations working in peacebuilding and conflict transformation, where she's been involved in various roles since 1995. Sandra is a founding member of the European Platform for Conflict Prevention and Transformation (EPCPT), of the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO), and of the Child Soldiers Initiative (CSI).
