Welcome back to the Full Circular. Whether you identify as an introvert or an extrovert, living under lockdown is challenging in part because it goes against the fundamentally social nature of humankind. And that’s not just about sipping wine in good company on a Friday night, but the way we navigate society, never far from contact with others. When that’s taken away, what do we learn about ourselves?

From Ancient Greece to the cosy surroundings of Full Circle House, via an online social get-together in the form of our new e-Salons, this week’s Full Circular will take you on a virtual journey across a number of insights into what shapes our social nature, and the ways art and politics grow from within it.

And if you're feeling the need for a little social stimulation, or looking for reassurance in these strange times, make sure you sign up to our next e-Salon, where philosopher Julian Baggini will lead a discussion on the consoling power of philosophy in times of crisis.

A.C. Grayling
On European Culture

We may all be physically distant from one another at the moment, but philosopher A.C. Grayling’s insights into the origins of a shared European culture are an insightful reminder of our inherent sociability came to shape society as we know it.

Our Meals4Healthcare campaign, kicked off by Full Circle members, has so far raised over €25,000, mainly from staff inside the European Commission. We need €10,500 per week to pay for 100 meals a day, for hospital workers at the CHU St Pierre.

Please help, so we can continue to give free meals to hospital staff who so badly need our support. You can also share this campaign with your network or your organisation.
