ON CONNECTION We live in the most connected age in human history. Our climates are entangled, our histories are shared, our devices link us to millions, and yet, somehow, we feel disconnected from each other and disempowered by what happens around us. The world is shifting beneath our feet. The ties that once held us together feel loose - what does it mean to be truly connected? With this year's theme we are exploring what it means to live together in a world that feels like we're drifting apart. The festival offers an answer in progress. Bringing together thinkers from around the world, it is a space to explore connection in all its forms — between people, between disciplines, between the local and the global, between the human and…the bot. Through talks, conversations, deep listening and quiet contemplation, performances and shared meals we will think hard about what actually holds us together, and what's quietly pulling us apart. THE BACKSTORY Since 2013 Full Circle has been bringing great minds, original thinkers and doers, to meet, inspire and connect. Our Festival of Ideas – 3-days that nourish mind, body and soul – is the alternative to the Christmas shopping frenzy and a world in business-as-usual mode. We come together to address the issues that keep us up at night, with fresh thinking and new ways of seeing old problems. We bring together those who care about the future in a community of thought and action.
We are proud to host the Ideas Festival entirely in House so you can revel in that precious festival feeling where inspiration germinates and bonds are made. We've designed it with room for depth and formats that support good discussions. We plan spaces and timelines so you don’t rush around but can linger on after a Talk or a Workshop, take the time to brew ideas and make connections that click. Thought provoking TALKS. Not forgetting LIVE MUSIC - ARTSHOW - CREATIVE WRITING - POETRY - NEWS COMMENTARY - GONG BATH - and with FOOD & DRINK available all weekend! Most talks in ENGLISH, some in FRENCH and DUTCH. |
