B’TSELEM is a prominent Israeli NGO, based in Jerusalem, documenting and exposing violations of human rights.

Belgian Friends of Standing Together is a collective that fosters intercommunity dialogue and solidarity in Belgium, and supports the Israeli movement Standing Together, a joint Jewish-Palestinian movement for peace, equality and justice.

Together, the invited speakers from will discuss the human rights situation in Gaza and the West Bank and reflect on the current dynamics in Israeli society, media and politics.

Come and meet the representatives of B'Tselem to learn about what's happening on the ground, discuss the outlook and the alternatives for finding a more peaceful, common future for all concerned.

ABOUT

Sarit Michaeli, International Outreach Director, B'Tselem
Sarit Michaeli has been with B’Tselem since 2004 and currently leads the organisation’s fundraising and international advocacy, working with policymakers, diplomats and civil society worldwide. She previously served as B’Tselem’s media spokesperson and director of public outreach, and is active in Israel’s anti-occupation movement, providing protective presence to West Bank Palestinian communities at risk of forcible transfer. Sarit holds an MA (Distinction) in Gender Studies from Birkbeck, University of London, and a BA in graphic design from Camberwell College of Art. She grew up in Jerusalem and lives in Tel Aviv-Jaffa.  

Yoav Shemer-Kunz,  EU Advocacy Officer, B'Tselem
Yoav Shemer-Kunz joined B’Tselem in 2025 to strengthen the organisation’s outreach in Europe. A political scientist, he teaches at Syracuse University’s Strasbourg Center on European institutions and human rights. He is an expert on Israel-Palestine and the EU, particularly policies on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, and regularly publishes in outlets such as EU Observer and the research blog Yaani. Yoav grew up in Jerusalem and lives in France.

Moderator:  Veronica White
With over 25 years’ experience in international relations, dialogue and diplomacy, Veronica White began supporting Standing Together in London, drawn by its alignment with her human rights values. Her Palestinian-British heritage offers a personal lens on the organisation’s peacebuilding mission.
