How do you think?

A talk with David Sumpter

Catalyst  / Thurs 19th Sept / 5:00 - 6:15 pm

What is the best way to think about the world? How often do we consider how our own thinking might impact the way we approach our daily decisions? Could it help or hinder our relationships, our careers, or even our health?

Thinking about thinking is something we rarely do, yet it is something science questions all the time. Mathematician David Sumpter has spent decades studying the way we think, and reveals the four approaches we take to our problems: statistical, interactive, chaotic and complex.

David explores the meaning of each one, and explains how being aware of the way you think can help you make sense of the world around you and approach life decisions in a more thoughtful way.
