Poets & Czars:
Russia Through The Eyes of a Dissident Writer

Thur 21 Oct / Full Circle House / 5 - 6pm / 5€

Unfortunately, this event has been postponed. But do please join us this Saturday for another Catalyst event.

Mikhail Shishkin is the only living Russian author to win all three of Russia's major literature prizes. Translated into thirty-five languages, his innovative writing skilfully explores universal themes, such as love and death, pain and happiness, war and peace.

Through both his books and his reflections on current politics, Shishkin tackles both the past and present of Russian literature, contemporary politics and intellectual dissent. What is it like to be a writer? And a writer questioning civil society and free speech in his own country?
