Thriving societies beyond growth

A short talk with Elze Veermas & Lara Ferrante

 Ideas Festival  / Sun 1st Dec / 2-3 pm

As one still learns in school, if the economy is growing, everything will go well, but the climate crisis shows that something is seriously amiss in this view of things. Can it all be different?

Growth, degrowth, regrowth – this is one of the most pressing debates of our time and socio-ecological thinkers Elze Veermas and Lara Ferrante have the keys to it. They present a compelling narrative about a world with less inequality, fewer private jets, burn-outs and landfill sites, and about a healthy planet with more quality of life, time for each other and sustainable products. In other words, about thriving societies, where everyone enjoys a good life within planetary boundaries.
