“Humans and machines coming together solve very very difficult problems that neither one can solve by themselves…”

Can Big Data help us make better decisions? Each year computers are getting faster, but at the same time we as humans are getting better at using them. The top chess players in the world are not computers OR humans, but combinations of computers AND humans. Sean Gourley examines the world of augmented intelligence and argues that teaming up with machines is key to understanding the world around us better.

Sean Gourley is the CTO and Co-Founder of Quid, a company helping organisations make sense of the world around them so they can make truly informed decisions. He is a Physicist by training and has studied the mathematical patterns of war and terrorism. His experience in mapping the human condition using data, algorithms, and other technologies has made him a leading name in the big data community.
